Objective:

The main goal of the Dynamic Positioning Familiarization training is to provide an overview of DP system’s functions and capabilities for marine and offshore personnel not directly involved in DP system operation. Participants are inducted about system’s configuration, concept of redundancy and emergency planning including alarms and warnings printouts.

Course Content:

• Principles of Dynamic Positioning;
• Elements of DP system including periphery equipment;
• Power Management System;
• DP vessels capabilities and redundancy concept;
• DP guidelines and operational documentation;
• DP vessel incident analysis.

Assessment: There is no specific assessment procedure.

Target Audience: Offshore project personnel, onshore staff of ship operating companies, ETOs, marine engineers about to take DP Maintenance course, etc.
