DPA Training CourseAccording to the ISM code requirement, the DPA is a key person in the assurance of a shipping company’s Safety Management System compliance with the Code and other related international regulations. Therefore, the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) Training is developed to guide Safety and Quality personnel of the maritime industry in their responsibilities, audit procedures and possible hinders of their profession.

Objective:

The goal training is to provide profound understanding of the DPA’s role in the company’s Safety Management System development. During the course delegates familiarize with their duties, obtain information about potential legal exposures, auditing processes, useful risk analysis methods.

Course content:

• Analysis of the ISM Code;
• Other mandatory rules and guidelines;
• Assessments techniques in DPA’s practice;
• Safety management aspects and procedures;
• Marine-related management system audits – techniques and proceedings;
• Effective communication with crew members and shore-based personnel.

Assessment: there is a written test – assessment at the end of the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) Training.

Target Audience: Designated persons, quality managers, superintendents, nautical and engine officers.

Pre-requisites: Prior knowledge of ISM Code and experience in the shipping industry.

Duration: 2 days.
