The Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Services to Passengers in Passenger Spaces for Ro-Ro Passenger Ships course is specifically designed for Ro-Ro vessels Masters, Officers, ratings and other personnel assigned with special duties on muster list. The training is based on the requirements of STCW Code Reg. V/2 par. 5. Section A-V/2 par.2 and Section A-V/3 par.2 as well as IMO Model Courses 1.28. and 1.29.

Objective:

The key goal of the Crowd Management, Passenger Safety and Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Services to Passengers in Passenger Spaces for Ro-Ro Passenger Ships course is to ensure that personnel assigned to take charge over passengers safety during emergency on board possess the required qualification in crowd control; communication skills; sufficient knowledge of vessel’s life-saving equipment and location of mustering and embarkation stations so as to guide and assist ship passengers with additional attention to the disabled and other persons requiring special care.

Course content:

• Ro-Ro vessel emergency procedures;
• Onboard life-saving equipment: location and application demonstration;
• Establishment of effective communication: safety guidance in elementary English, sign language and demonstrations;
• Leading the big crowd including special assistance during mustering, embarkation and disembarkation;
• Cargo securing operations;
• Trim, stability and stress calculations;
• Ro-Ro deck atmosphere;
• Hull openings repair.

Target Audience: Personnel of Ro-Ro vessels working in direct proximity of passengers and designated with safety duties on muster list.

Pre-requisites: none at this level.

Duration: 2 – 4 days.
