The Confined Space Rescue training prepares personnel for the role of Confined Space Rescue team member and provides comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities of this position and techniques that must be learnt and practiced to rescue entrants from a confined space.

Objectives:

Upon a successful completion of the Confined Space Rescue course participants will demonstrate the following results:

• Performing a confide space risk assessment;
• Development of a lucid Confide Space Rescue plan;
• Professionally operation of the personal protective and safety equipment;
• Casualties location ability;
• Gaining entry to a CS keeping in mind the importance of lock out, tag out and removing of potential hazards;
• In case course outline contains breathing apparatus section, then high competence in operation of the escape set.
• Rescuing casualties and delivery of first medical help.

Course content:

• Review of confide space potential hazards and risk assessment;
• Types of rescue (offensive, defensive);
• Confide Space Rescue Plan;
• PPE and rescue equipment (ropes, winches, harness, etc.);
• Confide space rescue techniques;
• Escape set, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus operation;*
• Post incident analysis and debrief.

Note*: Optional module; might not be present in the syllabi of some training providers.

Assessment: Written examination and practical training exercise at the end of the course.

Target Audience: Personnel designated to conduct confined space rescue operations.

Duration:  2 days.

Pre-requisites: the Confined Space Entry initial course certificate or its equivalent; medical fitness certificate; SCBA permit for trainings which include this module.
