Some training providers offer the Confined Space Entry and Rescue training which is a convenient blend of the Confined Space Entry course containing all the theoretical details about CS and the Confined Space Rescue providing practical guidance of emergency response in case of entrapment, suffocation, fire or other accidents that might occur in one of the hostile places which fall into the category of confined space.

Objective:

The main goal of the Confined Space Entry and Rescue training is to provide attendants with the theoretical and practical knowledge that will reduce risk of their entering a confide space and enable them to perform rescue operations in case of emergency happening there.

Course content:

• Identification of confined space and their types;
• Hazards associated with the confined space;
• International legislation and guidelines connected with the operations in the CS;
• Different types of atmospheres and portable gas detection systems;
• Personal Protective Equipment (clothes, respirator, ropes, harnesses, etc.);
• Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (S.C.B.A.), Supplied Air Respirators (SAR) Air Systems and others;
• Pre-entry procedures and equipment checks;
• Manning levels and permits;
• Emergency procedures and developing Confide Space Rescue plan;
• CS rescue equipment (tripod, ropes, winches, harnesses, resuscitation, lockout and tag out equipment);
• Practical exercises with the use of escape set and S.C.B.A.;
• Practical exercises with vertical entry and egress using tripod and winch.

Assessment: There are a written assessment and practical examination.

Target Audience: Personnel, who regularly enter, work in or supervise operations at a confined space and might be required to perform rescue activities there.

Duration: 3 days.

Validity: 3 years.
