The Bridge Resource Management (Leadership and Teamwork) at Operational Level course is designed in compliance with Section A-II/1 of the STCW 1978 Convention as amended and includes theoretical and practical sessions targeted at developing advanced teambuilding skills among operational level deck officers.

Objective:

It is expected that after Bridge Resource Management (Leadership and Teamwork) at Operational Level course trainees will:

• Demonstrate good knowledge of international conventions and important legislation;
• Adhere to Company specific and ship safety procedures;
• Manage workload and delegate task correctly;
• Develop decision making skills;
• Upgrade navigational techniques to ensure safer vessel operation.

Course content:

• Bridge personnel management theory and focus groups;
• International maritime conventions, valid national legislation;
• Stress and work management;
• HR management, shipboard procedures, company specific procedures;
• Decision making and risk management;
• Navigational exercises on the simulator.

Target Audience: Deck officers, students of marine universities.

Pre-requisites: minimum 6 month as a deck cadet.

Duration: 3 days.
