Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations (Refresher)The Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations (Refresher Course) is developed to update and upgrade original cargo handling knowledge obtained during the Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations. The Refresher course is also targeted at personnel designated with cargo duties and the course program complies with the Section A – V/1-2 of the STCW code.

Objective:

The goal of the Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations (Refresher Course) is to renew theoretical and practical knowledge of loading, unloading, care in transit and overall handling on the liquefied gas cargoes.

Course content:

• Physical and chemical properties of liquefied gases;
• Hazards associated with LPG/LNG transfer, risk control;
• LNG/LPG tanker design and equipment;
• Cargo handling operations and systems;
• Tanker atmosphere control and gas control devices;
• Emergency prevention and response.

Note: the course program is studied online with the one day simulator practice following the self-study period.

Assessment: Delta Tanker program is used for the examination.

Target Audience: Officers with cargo handling responsibilities on Liquefied Gas Tankers.

Pre-requisites: Valid Basic Training for Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations certificate.

Duration: 3 days.
