Basic Survival Training
The Basic Survival Training is a US and Canadian analogue of the Basic Offshore Safety and Emergency Induction Training (BOSIET) by OPITO. Nowadays it is a 5-days comprehensive training program which includes sea survival, installation fire fighting and helicopter underwater escape modules.
Objective:
Among the main goals of the Basic Survival Training are:
• Conveying the risks associated with travelling to and from offshore installation and the consequent change of student’s behavior towards professional safety;
• Provision of sufficient practice in self rescue and firefighting activities including special equipment handling;
• Delegates mastering helicopter underwater escape technique;
• Teaching students’ necessary sea survival tactics;
• Explaining common emergency offshore protocols.

Target Audience: All personnel starting career at the Oil&Gas industry.

Validity: 3 years, refreshed by the Basic Survival Training (Recurrent).
