The BOSIET with Escape Chute Training (ECT) is most suitable for offshore personnel setting off to work in Norwegian sector of the North Sea where Escape Chute Training (ECT) is a compulsory requirement. However, basically this is a usual OPITO BOSIET training which provides all-round familiarization with the offshore oil&gas industry, its safety issues and extensive self-rescue practice.

Objectives:

After the completion of the BOSIET with Escape Chute Training (ECT) training delegates are expected to:

• Recognize most common offshore hazards and dangers associated with them;
• Be knowledgeable in offshore safety regulations and international guidelines applicable to the oil&gas industry;
• Demonstrate the correct use of safety equipment, prepare to and follow helicopter emergency escape procedures safely and efficiently;
• Practice sea survival and first aid;
• Use firefighting equipment competently and perform self rescue from confided spaces with obscured visibility;
• Identify various types of escape chutes and demonstrate correct ways of entering and evacuating from EC.

Course Content:

• General safety induction;
• Fire Fighting and Self Rescue;
• Sea Survival techniques and First Aid, hypothermia;
• Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET);
• Escape Chute Training i.e. theory session and practical exercises.

 Target Audience: Newcomers to the offshore industry, particularly those planning to work in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Pre-requisites: None.

Duration: 3 – 4 days.

Validity: 4 years.

Note: Please note that in order to work in the UK  sector of the North Sea the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) training certificate will be required in accordance with the Mutual Recognition of Basic and Refresher Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training Agreement, Annex B.
