The NOGEPA 2.3A & 2.7A -F Basic Coxswain Man Overboard Boat & Coxswain Free-Fall Lifeboat course is developed for offshore personnel appointed to handle survival crafts in case f emergencies on the offshore installations including launching and handling the boats.

Objective:

On completion of the NOGEPA 2.3A & 2.7A -F Basic Coxswain Man Overboard Boat & Coxswain Free-Fall Lifeboat participants will master basic principles of survival equipment maintenance in the working condition as well as operational procedures for launching and handling Man Overboard craft and Free-Fall Lifeboat.

Course content:

• Maintenance survival craft in the operational condition;
• Safety drills;
• Preparation of survival craft for launching;
• Ensuring safety of passengers during boarding;
• Launching a survival craft and its navigation to safety;
• Radio communication;
• Disembarkation of passengers in a safe place.

Target Audience:  Personnel designated to launch and navigate survival crafts.

Pre-requisites: NOGEPA 0.5 Basic Safety Training will be an advantage.

Duration: 3 days.

Validity: 2 years, revalidation with NOGEPA 2.3B & 2.7B -F Coxswain Man Overboard Boat & Coxswain Free-Fall Lifeboat.
