Air/Mixed Gas Commercial Diver
The purpose of the Air/Mixed Gas Commercial Diver training is to provide comprehensive commercial diving skills and certification allowing participants to work worldwide. The program usually includes three sessions: classroom, training tank and practical open water.
Objective:
There are following learning outcomes of the Air/Mixed Gas Commercial Diver training:
• Acquisition of basic knowledge of diving physics, physiological processes as well as decompression;
• Mastering diving equipment; it’s professional operation and maintenance;
• Familiarization with the hazards associated with commercial diving and risk control;
• Recognition of the relevant international legislation;
• Training of divers ‘communication skills;
• Understanding of underwater construction principles;
• Underwater welding skills development;
• Recognition of the importance of hyperbaric operations.
Course content:
• Diving Physics, physiology and decompression:
• Diving emergency procedures;
• Diving equipment, systems, procedures and tools;
• Practical use of diving equipment;
• Commercial diving hazards and risk management;
• Guidelines and Legislation;
• Divers’ Communication system;
• Rigging;
• Underwater inspections;
• Water Jetting, Airlifts, Venturi Dredges and Lift Bags;
• Underwater welding and cutting;
• Underwater construction techniques;
• Hyperbaric Chamber.
Target Audience: Physically strong people wishing to obtain qualification of the Commercial Diver.
Pre-requisites: Consult the chosen training provider.
Duration: Up to 20 weeks.
Note: the Air/Mixed Gas Commercial Diver training doesn’t qualify student to become a certified Underwater Welding specialist.
