The Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Cargo Operations (Refresher Course) is designed in accordance with Regulation V/1-2, Section 3 of STCW Convention as a method of preserving high level of competence among tanker personnel involved in cargo handling operations.

Objective:

The aim of the Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Cargo Operations (Refresher Course) training is to refresh key points of the initial course and upgrade knowledge concerning cargo loading, discharging, safe transportation or handling of bulk liquefied gas tanker cargoes.

Course content:

• Nature and properties of liquefied gases;
• Hazards of liquefied gas cargoes, safety precautions;
• Liquefied Gas Tanker design features and systems;
• Cargo handling operation (practical simulator exercises);
• Emergency actions and shutdown;
• Pollution prevention.

Assessment: assessment includes written or online questionnaire and practical simulator exercise.

Target Audience: Tanker personnel (officers) involved in cargo handling operations.

Pre-requisites: Valid Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas Cargo Operations certificate.

Note: Some training providers will require applicants to complete a preliminary test prior to be admitted for the training.

Duration: 1 – 2 days.
