The Advanced Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations (Refresher Course) is developed in order to provide tanker personnel in charge of loading, cargo handling, pumping, etc. with an opportunity to maintain their level of competence. This training complies with Regulation V-1-1, Section 5 of STCW convention.

Objective:

Upon the successful completion of the course delegates will refresh their understanding and practical skills or chemical tanker cargo operations as well as obtain other essential vocational information concerning safe working procedures, emergency situations and environmental impact prevention.

Course content:

• Chemical tanker construction features, equipment and systems (heating, pumping, venting, etc.);
• Properties of chemical products and their potential hazard to human health and environment;
• Cargo handling operations simulator training;
• Occupational safety and emergency response on chemical tankers;
• Environmental awareness and pollution prevention.

Assessment: assessment consists of written or online examination and simulator exercise.

Target Audience: Tanker personnel (officers) involved in cargo handling or tank cleansing.

Pre-requisites: Valid Advanced Training for Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations certificate.

Note: Some training providers will require applicants to complete a preliminary test prior to be admitted for the training.

Duration: 12 days.
