Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation CourseThe Maritime Risk Management and Incident Investigation course is an important training for all maritime personnel designated with safety duties either onboard or onshore. The course provides methodology and practical instructions of possible accidents risks calculation as well as techniques for investigations of incidents.

Objective:

The key objectives of the Maritime Risk Management and Incident Investigation training include:

• Familiarization with the risk management concept applicable for the maritime industry;
• Development of the personal understanding of the risk concept;
• Application of the risk management strategy and accidents prevention;
• Implementation of Root Cause Analysis techniques including Loss Causation model and Causal Factor Charting method in order to improve risk management processes.

• Concept of risk management in the shipping industry;
• Process of risk management from: hazard identification to mitigation;
• Risk Assessment;
• Risk Assessment – Workshop or Company example practice task;
• Accident/Incident Investigation – case study;
• Root Cause Analysis;
• Causation Model and the Causal Factor Charting method;
• Practical exercises in Incident investigation and RCA.

Target Audience: Management and Safety personnel of the shipping companies, DPA, shipboard officers.

Pre-requisites: Experience in the maritime industry.
